The winding road along Vietnam's coastline connecting the country's important cities and towns has borne witness to many twists and turns in the recent history. Built in the 18th century by Vietnamese soldiers and mandarins, from which its name derived, the road takes you from the historical and cultural treasures of Hanoi to World Heritages sites in Phong Nha, Hue, Hoi An, from the pristine beaches of Danang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet to the swinging traffic and hectic business pace of Ho Chi Minh City. You will also have a chance to set foot on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road, or the previously-so-called Ho Chi Minh trail) and interact with hospitable local people as well as landscape that are exotic beyond imagination.
