Today, we will learn the secrets of Lao cuisine with a cooking class at Tamarind Restaurant. Begin by visiting the colorful and vibrant Phou Si Market with an expert chef, who will help you to select the ingredients you need for the lesson. After that, collect fresh herbs from an exotic jungle garden. Come back to the restaurant to begin our lesson. Here, the chef will explain the differences between the various cuisines of Southeast Asia and distribute printed recipes so you can impress your friends at home. After breakfast, we will visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center which will give you an insight into the daily lives of the ethnic minorities in Northern Laos. Then, take a trip to a local weaving center in which you can experience a half-day traditional silk-dyeing lesson. Make your own souvenir hand-dyed silk scarf as a memento. After the lesson, you can enjoy a drink while watching the sunset over the Mekong. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

In the morning, we will cycle south of Luang Prabang for about 20 kilometres to Ban Thin Som to make a short trek through the peaceful countryside to visit a Kamu village. Have delicious lunch served by a local family. After a short relax, we will keep trekking through the stunning mountains to come Ban Long Lao where you are sure to enjoy the breathtaking views. We will have a good chance to know more about their culture and the daily life. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Hmong dance and have dinner at the head man’s house. After having breakfast is served at the head man’s house, we will have some free time to discover the village. Then, we will trek through a valley for about three hours before arriving at Kuang Si waterfalls. The falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. The water here has a clear blue-green tint due to the high mineral content. Relax and enjoy swimming in cool and fresh pools. After having lunch in front of the falls, we will visit a bear rescue center nearby. Come back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon

Today, we will have a full day free to discover the famous city or only relax at your hotel before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
